Kim Cunningham serves as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) at NANA Regional Corporation, Inc. (NANA) and senior vice president and CFO of NANA’s wholly-owned subsidiary, NANA Development Corporation (NDC). Cunningham supports NANA’s leadership and employees with financial management and analysis, and oversees the accounting, internal control systems and financial reporting of the entire organization. She also provides financial oversight of NANA’s natural resource portfolio, including its 7(i) obligations.
Kim joined NANA in 2012 as the Senior Director of Finance for Natural Resources, and most recently served as the Vice President of Finance for the Corporation. Prior to joining NANA, she was at Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) for almost 10 years, serving as the Director of Tax before being promoted to Senior Director of Lands and Resources.
Kim began her career at KPMG, LLP, a public accounting firm, where she worked with a variety of clients across many industries, gaining valuable technical skills and knowledge in business, governmental, non-profit and village and native corporations. She has over 15 years of experience with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs).
She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds undergraduate degrees in both accounting and finance. She also has a Master’s degree in Information Processing and Communication from Montana State University. She currently serves as the chair of the Student Assistance Foundation and its audit committee, is a board member, treasurer, and finance committee chair for the Blood Bank of Alaska, and treasurer for the Alaska Association of Professional Landmen. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Council of Petroleum Accountants Society.
