John L. Hendrix
Commercial Group President
John L. Hendrix is NANA Development Corporation’s Commercial Group president. The Commercial Group is comprised of subsidiaries that support resource development projects, as well as other industries, including healthcare and education. Hendrix, a lifelong Alaskan, oversees the performance and growth of NANA’s commercial businesses—throughout Alaska and in the continental U.S.
Hendrix brings almost four decades of global experience in the energy industry. His extensive background includes leadership roles for industry leaders such as Apache and BP. He has also consulted for energy executives, corporate boards and government leaders, domestically and internationally. Most recently, he held a position as chief oil and gas advisor on Gov. Bill Walker’s Cabinet, where he successfully facilitated growth with oil and gas companies working in Alaska.
An Alaskan deeply engaged in the community, Hendrix currently serves as trustee president of the Boys & Girls Club of Alaska and he founded the Popeye Wrestling Club in Homer. He is on the board of the Alaska Support Industry Alliance and the Petroleum Club. He is also a regular voting member of North America’s oldest conservation organization, the Boone and Crockett Club.
Hendrix holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee.
