NANA is ramping up its investment in Alaska with new business additions, and a recent revamp of its business structure. NANA’s business operations are structured under Federal and Commercial Groups. The Federal Group, based in Virginia, provides diverse services to the U.S. government. The Commercial Group comprises all other subsidiaries, including NANA Management Services, NANA WorleyParsons, NANA Lynden, and others. The Commercial Group creates jobs and income through its suite of best-in-class services, particularly in resource development industries – a mainstay in Alaska’s economy.

NANA recently reacquired WHPacific Alaska, an engineering firm with offices in Anchorage and Utqiaġvik, which has been in operation since 1982. Under NANA, the operations will be rebranded as Kuna Engineering. The firm employs almost 50 Alaskans, and provides transportation, facility engineering and rural development services, among others. Kuna’s employees have deep roots and extensive experience in supporting Alaska’s communities.

Other changes in the Commercial Group include the addition of NANA Construction, and its recent growth. Previously GIS Alaska, NANA Construction operates one of the best fabrication facilities in the state, strategically situated in Big Lake for easier transport of modules and supplies to the North Slope and Red Dog Mine — the largest zinc mine in the world. The company also provides on-site construction services to support customers. The company is poised to support future growth opportunities at Red Dog Mine and on the North Slope.

Currently, the Commercial Group employs more than 2,500 Alaskans and over 500 NANA shareholders and provides services such as camp services, security, logistics, engineering and design, general construction, drilling and other resource development support services.
